Russell McVeagh's Infrastructure Group draws on a wide variety of skills from the firm's Corporate Advisory, Finance, Property, Resource Management, Litigation and Employment teams to advise clients on all aspects of infrastructure projects.

This expertise includes:

- commercial and general advice through all stages of the project, including joint venture   and consortium formation, competitive tendering, contract negotiation, project financing and project execution; 

- the preparation and negotiation of all required project documentation; 

- advice on all related resource management, property, intellectual property, tax and employment matters.

- advice on the management of specific contractual 'hotspots', including dispute avoidance and dispute resolution (negotiation, mediation, arbitration and litigation); 

The team has considerable experience, both locally and internationally, with large scale infrastructure work (roading, airports, electricity transmission, water supply dams and wastewater treatment plants), energy (thermal, hydro and wind generation projects, as well as oil and gas exploration and development), coastal (reclamations, commercial port and marina developments, and aquaculture), large-scale retail developments and special interest/sector developments, (eg, stadia, schools, hospitals, prisons).  This experience covers the broad spectrum of alliance contracting, design build,  build own transfer and build own operate transfer (and other similar procurement structures), as well as public private partnerships and PFI structures.
