Waitakere City the fifth largest City in New Zealand is also one of the fastest growing. 

The Council has an asset base of more than $2 billion and in the past five years has embarked on a major capital works programme which has included new libraries and other community facilities, roading, stormwater, and parks network upgrades.

Known as the “Eco City” Waitakere has economic development and local employment as its number one strategic priority into the future.  Waitakere has a reputation for innovation and forward thinking and has won many national and international awards, including the United Nations “LivCom”award in 2006 as the Most Livable City in the World (with a population under 200,000)
